Here’s your go-to list for every Springboards term, naming convention, and bit of jargon you might come across. Each definition is quick, clear, and (where needed) linked to deeper dives on the topic.

Big Brand Ideas Board
Our Springboard tool for getting a high-level overview of a brand or concept from a strategist's POV.
Board
A specific tool in the Springboards suite. The Insights Digger and Validator are examples of “Boards.”
Brand Profile
This is the area where you can add in extra nuance and detail into your session such as Audience, Product or Service specifics or Reasons-to-believe etc.
Brand Strategy Board
The Brand Strategy Board is our specially primed tool for getting a high-level overview of a brand. Simply input the name and hit Spark. It will out put some basic brand context such as History, Positioning, Brand Mates and other handy info.
Canvas
A Canvas in Springboards is the infinite white space for visually arranging mindmaps of Sparks and Notes from team mates collaborating on a project.
Canvas Mode
This is Springboards layout option for working with your Boards alongside a Canvas for Mindmapping. The Tools are relocated to be shifted to the left of the screen to allow for access to the Canvas mindmapping tools.
Campaign Concepts Board
This tool bridges strategy and execution, taking a high-level brand idea and translating it into campaignable concepts across different creative styles.
Cultural Hook
This is a term that many Springboard users use to describe how a Spark can be supercharged with relevance and inspiration by bringing in a reference to current affairs, pop culture or anything really that feels like an interesting angle for the brand to brainstorm on.
Comms Framework Board
A tailored board for Communications Strategy. Helps generate thought starters in terms of Communications Barriers and potential ways to overcome them.
Concept Machine Board
This is the Springboards tool for creating awesome unique and original visual imagery for moodboards or brainstorm sessions about your ideas. Generate storyboards in various styles or bring to life what something may look like in certain styles.

Connections Ideas
This tool pulls together your audience, insight and strategy to spark three distinct connection ideas. Then it brings them to life across the right channels, moments and mindsets to make real impact. Smart. Targeted. Built to resonate.
Convergent Thinking
This is a brainstorming technique where one tries to refine and limit their ideas based on certain criteria. Helping to sort the good from the GREAT. Finding the most strategically appropriate solutions!
Creative Brief Board
Generate potential creative briefings using the GET, WHO, TO, BY format. Use the input fields to help shape and refine the outputs by adding in or taking away various angles in Insights , Problem Statements and Excludes to find that perfect angle to inspire your team!
Divergent Thinking
This is a brainstorming technique where one tries to explore, discover and laterally find novel or unexpected potential solutions. The key here is that this type of brainstorming shouldn't be too critical, it's just about exploring , playing and getting into a flow state creatively.
Execution Generator Board
Springboards Execution generator is a way to generate thought starter executional descriptions based on specific media channels such as billboards, Youtube adverts or Tiktok.
Exclude
This prompting function will help keep your results clear of unwanted ideas or concepts. Use exclude to get the tool to stay away from certain topics in order to push into more new and unexplored territories.
Focus Mode
Springboards Focus Mode is the default mode for Springboards when it opens, new Sparks are generated front and centre for maximum readability and scrollability. Use the Focus Mode layout for when you are Sparking and are not yet ready to move to the Canvas Mode for mindmapping / collaboration on Pins.
Insights Digger Board
This is the specialized tool for finding unique and tension filled perspectives on brands. The Insights Digger tool will give you a range of insightful perspectives and thoughts ranging from Product focused all the way through to Cultural and Human based insights.
Mindmap
In the Springboards Canvas Mode a user can visually arrange their Pins and ideas into a structure you can see on a page. This is a great way to invite collaboration and also to discover new connections between ideas by laying them out in various frameworks on your mindmap.
Media Amp
This tool takes your audience, campaign idea, and insight to build tailored executions for actual media placements — the formats, feeds and spaces where it’ll live. Each one is designed to amplify the idea by making the media itself part of the magic.
Pin
These are the refined snippets of text that are selected out of a particular Spark by a user. A Pin is usually a useful or inspiring idea relevant to that user’s session.
Pin Bar
Your private space for storing and sorting saved ideas. As you Pin text from outputs, it stacks here. Only you can see your Pin Bar — it’s designed for collecting, organising, and refining before you share.
Personas Explorer
Personas Explorer turns dense syndicated research into living, breathing human profiles — packed with real attitudes, interests, behaviors and media habits. So you’re not just targeting demos, you’re connecting with people.
Riffbot
Your personal Springboards Ai sparring partner. Send a Pin to the Riffbot to brainstorm what it thinks of a particular idea or just ask it a general question. This chatbot gives concise and creative answers to any question related to your topic.
Session
A session in Springboards is like a project or brand campaign. You may choose to create new sessions for each new campaign or amend existing sessions depending on your needs.
Spark
Sparks are the building core blocks of a Springboard session. Everytime you execute a prompt in Springboards the output stacks up in the middle of the Focus Mode as a Spark. These are raw materials a user might use to find and curate Pins from.
The Validator Board
The Validator Board is our way to verify and check a particular idea for credibility, a prompt here will generate a summary of research sources found on the web as well as citations that are hyperlinked to those particular sources. This is super handy if you are building a case for or against a particular topic.
